Description
This painting entitled Almond Blossoms
was painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1890. This painting depicts Van Gogh's
admiration for the almond plant in bloom. Almond Blossoms is one of
Vincent Van Gogh's works that was painted as a gift for his nephew Vincent
Willem, son of his brother Theodore van Gogh. Earlier in his letter, Theo said
that he would name his son after Vincent. The almond tree branches that grow in
February in the south of France which marks spring are made by Vincent a symbol
of new life. The outline of this Almond Blossoms painting follows the
style of Japanese prints.
