Appointment of the Head of Penghulu[1]
The Dutch East Indies colonial government issued a besluit (decision) to appoint a
hoofdpenghoeloe (head of the penghulu) in the Ngawi area, namely Mas Imam Anom.
[1] Penghulu is also used for someone who is in charge or authorized in the legality of a marriage in Islam or Penghulu Nikah.
