painting is entitled Dance at Bougival by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 1883.
This work depicts Aline Charigot, his wife Renoir and their friends dancing in
Bougival, a village in France. The village of Bougival in its time was a famous
place, because it became a gathering place for the Impressionist electorate and
they produced their work there. This painting is considered similar to Renoir's
other works, Dance in the City, which both depict people dancing. This
work is one of the masterpieces collected by the Museum of Fine Arts – Boston.
