What are the descriptions of the words, thoughts, and actions of the Priyayi (Javanese Nobleman)? Things that are not always imagined by people who are not born with blue blood. In the novel Para Priyayi, Umar Kayam tells the story of Soedarsono, who started out as a farmer's son, was sent to school, succeeded in becoming a teacher, was able to raise his level of life, and finally created a priyayi breed, which was followed by the luck and success of his children and grandchildren. Through the character Soedarsono, Umar Kayam managed to describe microscopically and in detail about the priyayi family. The stories of the Priyayi are told in a soft and flowing manner, so that the reader can easily understand the mindset of the Priyayi family. His storytelling style is interesting, making the author's message that criticizes feudalism can be conveyed well to the reader.
