Bull of Heaven Meets Pierre-Auguste Renoir - The Swing (1876)
Description
The
painting, entitled La balançoire or The Swing, is an
impressionist painting by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 1876. This work coincided
with another of Renoir's masterpieces, Bal du moulin de la Galette
(1876). Renoir rented a cottage near the Moulin de la Galette, to complete his
work Bal du moulin de la Galette. While he was finishing the work, he also
worked on the painting La balançoire, which is the model for this
painting, Edmond Renoir, one of Renoir's brothers, as well as Jeanne Samary – a
French theater performer and Norbert Goenutte a famous French painter.
